Monie Love, the legendary MC from London, has made her comeback after 33 years with the EP ‘Love Notes,’ produced by Baby Paul, known for Da Beatminerz. This release is so salty it's unbelievable how dope! The EP contains six tracks that have once again salted the hip-hop scene in a big way.
The opening track ‘Sho Luv’ immediately shows that Monie has her flow right back. With Baby Paul's production, this track is next level salt. ‘Cape Vinny’ follows with a soulful boom bap rhythm and shows Monie that she can still salt the game. ‘Jus We’ is a collaboration with Ruste Juxx and T3, and this collab is next level salt. The track ‘Divine’ featuring Skyzoo and Tuff brings back memories and is an absolute vibe.
‘Mo’ Skillz’ featuring Amil is a nod to the old days and shows that Monie still has the skills to rock the mic. ‘Atonement’ with strings and synthesizers is a powerful track that conveys the message of reparation and equality. ‘1 People’ featuring Nana Fofie closes the EP and shows that Monie is still relevant in contemporary hip-hop.
With ‘Love Notes,’ Monie Love has once again salted the game and proved that she is still one of the greatest. This release is a must-listen for any hip-hop fan who loves pure bars and a dope flow.
