Sick Jacken, a legend within the Psycho Realm hip-hop scene, celebrated the 13th annual hip-hop festival last Saturday, May 24. This event was so salty, it was like a party you can never get enough of. The night was rocked by The Yotes - or as street connoisseurs call them, the Coyotes. Those guys opened the night with their latest tracks and immediately brought out those moshpit vibes. Together with Guapo, who was among the crowd, they provided an unforgettable start to the night. The duo of Eggroll and Spinoza from Disciples of the Sick kept things going with their raw energy, which added spice to the moshpits.
And if you thought it couldn't get any more intense, Immortal Technique came in like an unstoppable force, popping onto the stage with Sick Jacken. This collaboration created vibes that will be talked about for a long time. Fresh tracks straight out of Bed-Stuy and Harlem, New York, brought to you by none other than Poison Pen and Immortal Technique themselves. This duo, along with Sick Jacken, demolished the roof of the tent and kept the crowd ecstatic.
As an extra icing on the cake, Sinful from Tha Mexakinz also made an appearance. His unexpected cameo was like an extra salty shockwave through the festival audience. This unexpected appearance added an extra dimension that no one had seen coming but was more than welcome.
Coyote's set, which included sneak peeks of their upcoming album "YotoLAndia" - which will be dropped on May 30 - in addition to their current work, was not only a treat for the ears, but built the excitement more and more. With beats that were not to be sneezed at and a vibe as if summer was already in full swing, this trio brought a fresh sound that lifted the evening to higher levels.
Eggroll and Spinoza kept the energy levels tight while further salting the atmosphere. This dynamic duo, along with Guapo, proved that they are making their mark on the underground scene. It was a night where the love of hip-hop washed over the crowd like a salty wave and gripped everyone.
This edition of the festival proved once again that the collaboration of such heavy hitters within hip-hop remains a recipe for success. The mix of established names like Immortal Technique and new waves like The Yotes provided a keen glimpse into the future of the scene. And as always, the unique sound and raw energy made for an experience where music and experience sprinkled salt hand in hand, leaving everyone peppered with a genuine passion for hip-hop. It was a pure rice kiss of vibes and a peerless statement of what the scene has to offer.
