Tha God Fahim has re-hyped the hip-hop scene by teaming up with Nicholas Craven to sprinkle salt on the music world. These two legends have added a new chapter to the illustrious “Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap” saga, and it has not gone unnoticed. If you thought they had already accomplished it with the conclusion of their trilogy weeks ago, you are wrong. Fahim is now dropping his 50th EP, and believe me, it leaves no one cold.
Fahim began as a talented member of Griselda Records and emerged as one-third of the famed Dump Gawds, along with Mach-Hommy and Your Old Droog. His discography is huge and full of bangers, including “Breaking Through tha Van Allen Belts” and “Dump Assassins.” But since 2023, he's really been on fire. Think numerical masterpieces like “Dark Shogunn Assassin” produced by Camouflage Monk and the “Iron Bull” under Nature Sounds’ banner. Not to mention the “Dump Gawd: Shot Clock King” series by Nicholas Craven, the crazy “Berserko” by Oh No, or “Dump Gawd: Rhyme Pays” with Mike Shabb behind the controls. It's just an unprecedented flurry of salt that Fahim pours over us.
Now Fahim continues his mission in “Dump Gawd: Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap 4”. The track “GFY” shows who is the real boss in the underground. The vibes are heavy and Fahim makes it clear that he claims paternity of many underground styles. In “Got Game,” he subtly points out everyone's skills and says: it's not about superficiality, it's about what you really put down.
Then we have “I Don't Care,” where he uses strings of constructions to validate his boss status in the rap game. While “Muscle Mass” shows how people can change like a leaf on a tree. “Plot Armor” firmly grabs the listener with a soulful boom bap vibe, while Fahim raps with a ton of confidence. The track “Questions & Answers” lingers rock hard as a result, and “Righteous Skills” closes the EP with a jazzy sound. It simply tells us how many times Fahim has turned negative situations into something positive with salty bars.
While some may consider the original “Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap” trilogy as ‘mwa,’ Fahim proves that he keeps on changing the game. He races toward the end of 2024 with power and looks to make the industry in 2025 even saltier than ever. With Craven's production as a rock solid foundation, Fahim takes everyone on a musical trip from boom bap to jazz, with that recognizable chipmunk soul flavor. Truly a must-listen if you like spitfire bars.
Score: a well-deserved 9 on the saltiness scale! This is a release that leaves an impact and pushes Fahim undeterred toward his legendary status-we're already putting it in our salty playlists for the new year. What do you guys think? Ready to get salted?
