The HHZ Radio app is designed for listening to the radio. You don\u2019t need to create an account; we don\u2019t ask for your name or email address to use the app, and it doesn\u2019t contain any ads or tracking software. Everything you do in the app\u2014favorites, downloads, where you left off, your settings\u2014stays on your phone.<\/p>
There are three times when information is actually sent to us, and that only happens if you choose to do so yourself: recording a request, using the contact form, and turning on notifications.<\/p>

When you record and submit a request, we receive that audio recording along with the name of the show it\u2019s for. We listen to it to see if we can use it on the show. The recording isn\u2019t shared with other listeners: there\u2019s no chat, no timeline, and no public profile in the app. Recordings are stored as long as they\u2019re relevant to the broadcast and are then deleted.<\/p>
The app only requests access to your microphone when you press the record button, and never uses it otherwise.<\/p>
When you fill out the contact form, we'll receive your name, email address, subject line, and message\u2014exactly what you enter\u2014so we can reply to you.<\/p>
To prevent misuse of that form, we also keep a record of an encrypted, irreversible representation of your IP address<\/strong> (a salted hash). This allows us to count how many messages are sent from a single location without the IP address itself being stored anywhere or being traceable.<\/p> If you turn on notifications, we\u2019ll store a randomly generated device ID, along with your Google push token and the shows you\u2019ve selected. That\u2019s the only thing that ID is used for: to know which device a notification should be sent to. It isn\u2019t linked to you personally, and if you turn off notifications, we won\u2019t send anything else.<\/p> \u2014<\/p> The app uses Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging exclusively to deliver push notifications. Other than that, we don't use Firebase\u2014no analytics, no ads.<\/p> \u2014<\/p> Everything you send is stored on our own server in the Netherlands and is always transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We retain requests and contact messages for as long as necessary to process them, and then we delete them.<\/p> You have the right to access the personal information we have about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted.
