Giffy Pluggo, the Chicago-based creative mind and driving force behind ATIP Records, has dropped another fat project. This time he has salted the scene with his second EP \"Douda.\" After his rise with the mixtapes \"Paid Leave\" and its sequel last summer, he came out with a fat deluxe version of his debut album \"Los Pluggos.\" And if that wasn't enough salt, he also dropped \"Pluggo's Birthday\" in early 2025. Now he is once again making waves in the scene with \"Douda,\" a project that shakes things up considerably thanks to the hit single \"Casino,\" which turns out to be his biggest track to date.<\/p>\n
The EP pops right off the bat with \"Couple Myles.\" This track introduces you to trap vibes provided by Myles, the cousin of Benny the Butcher. Giffy reflects on the times people underestimated him, to his label deal now. The beat keeps you firmly in control with sharp hi-hats. \"Villain Origin Story\" is a track full of punchlines, where a reference to the beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar puts a smile on your face.<\/p>\n
The track \"Roseland,\" a collaboration with C. Bill$, takes you to Giffy's roots. They spit bars over a boom bap beat that hits you with raw honesty as they articulate the hunger for fame. Then the mood switches with \"Tracy,\" a soulful banger in which Giffy dreams of an ideal world for him and his lover.<\/p>\n
When you think the ride is over, the second half of the EP begins with \"How I Came Up.\" Pianos combined with boom bap vibes outline the path of Giffy's youth, complete with an emotional tribute to his late homie Dilla. Then there's \"Plugs & Violins,\" a collaboration with Myles' father Rick Hyde. Giffy and Hyde call you to strive for more in life. \"See You in Hell\" reunites Giffy again with C. Bill$ to talk about how well things have been going for them lately. The remix of \"Casino\" featuring Jae Skeese closes the EP in style, with a salty trap sound that indicates you better not mess with them.<\/p>\n
The EP \"Douda\" is influenced by the Paramount Global Showtime network's \"The Chi,\" executive produced by Common. The character from the show, like Giffy, is a raw raised gangster with a science background from Roseland, a neighborhood in south Chicago. Myles oversaw the production and lifts it to a next-level salt, compared to Giffy's previous work.<\/p>\n
