In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Nas hailed Kendrick Lamar as the \u2018North Star\u2019 of the hip-hop scene. The Queensbridge legend highlighted Kendrick's dedication to the culture and his role in preserving the essence of the genre. Nas said: \\\u201dKendrick is one of the brightest stars we've ever seen, and I don't just mean superstar, I mean North Star - I think he's that kind of person.\u201d \\This accolade does not come out of the blue. Nas previously complimented Kendrick for his album \u2018GNX,\u2019 which was released in November 2024. On Instagram, Nas wrote: \\\u201dAlways inspired by my brother KL. Salute King!\u201d \\Kendrick Lamar's \u2018GNX\u2019 album opens with the track \u2018wacced out murals,\u2019 in which he criticizes the choice of him as Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show headliner in New Orleans, Lil Wayne's hometown. In one of his verses, Kendrick reflects on the reactions and emphasizes that Nas was the only one who congratulated him. He raps: \\\u201dI used to spin \u2018Tha Carter 3,\u2019 I used to wear my Rollie necklace proud. Irony, I guess my hard work disappointed Lil Wayne.\u201d \\\u201dGot the Super Bowl and Nas was the only one congratulating me, all this n####### annoyed me, I'm just glad it's on their faces.\u2122<\/p>\n
